Voyages

The Voyages Preschool Curriculum will help lead your three or four-year-olds to Jesus. Basic Christian concepts are taught through kid-friendly language. Take-home lesson sheets from the Family Letter Packets encourage parents to take an active role in their child’s education. There is a time set aside each day to learn hear a Bible Story and begin learning words from the Bible, however know that religion is taught all day long in how we act and treat each other as well as in the crafts we do and the books we read.

Core Knowledge

The Core Knowledge Preschool Sequence is a set of model guidelines describing fundamental competencies and specific knowledge, for children from three to five years of age, can provide a solid, coherent foundation for later learning in kindergarten and beyond. “Children who attend well-planned high-quality early childhood programs in which curriculum aims are specified and integrated across domains tend to learn more and are better prepared to master the complex demands of formal schooling.” from Eager to Learn (2001). National Research Council, Washington D.C. Our Savior Lutheran Ministries Early Childhood Development Center takes Core Knowledge one step further and integrates our faith in Jesus into every area. The Preschool Sequence is intended to guide the planning of experiences and activities for preschool children by offering a coherent progression of skills and knowledge in the following areas.
