JK-8 School Music
Children’s Handbell Ensembles
You won’t want to miss this opportunity to enrich your child’s life through music! Our Savior Lutheran Ministries offers a handbell program for students in 4th through 8th grade. Students learn to make music together, read basic music notation, and become a team. At the same time, they experience the joy of giving praise to God! These ensembles participate occasionally in worship, in our annual Christmas concert and in a spring concert with the school band.
Glad Chimes
- Who: Grades 4+ (No previous experience necessary)
- When: Mondays from 3:15 — 4:00pm in the Sanctuary.
Alleluia Ringers
- Who: Grades 5+ (At least one year of experience required)
- When: Thursdays from 3:15 — 4:00pm in the Sanctuary.
Children’s Choirs
Give Glory Gang
- Who: Grades 1-2
- When: Tuesdays from 3:15 — 4:00pm in the Choir Room.
- What: 3-4 Sunday Services a year.
Joyful Noise
- Who: Grades 3-5
- When: Wednesdays from 3:15 — 4:00pm in the Choir Room.
- What: 5-6 Sunday Services a year.
In His Name
- Who: Grades 6-8
- When: Tuesdays from 3:30 — 4:20 PM in the Sanctuary.
- What: 5-6 Sunday Services a year.
Band
Our Savior Lutheran School offers a variety of ways to get involved in instrumental music. Beginning band is available to 5th grade students and above, and occurs twice a week at various times during the school day. The band includes concert band instruments from the woodwind, brass and percussion families.
Jr. High band is currently offered during the school day for students who have had at least one year of experience (usually 6th grade and up). Instrumentation for the band are the same concert band instruments as the beginning band.
The bands perform at the Advent Services, Craft Boutique, chapel services, and a joint spring concert with the handbell groups.
