"Look at the nations and watch - be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told"
-Habbakuk 1:5
According to the Gospels of the New Testament Jesus repeatedly amazed people. In response to the disciples' astonishment, He even went so far to say, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go throw yourself into the sea!' and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." -Matthew 21:21-22
Does this mean we can simply submit our wishlist to Jesus, sit back, and watch it all come about? No! As with our spiritual predecessors, we present our prayerfully considered objectives to the Lord and then take action accordingly. If it means walking around the walls of Jericho seven times, we give our time. If it means pooling our treasures to build a tabernacle, we contribute our resources. If it means dividing into groups based on Spirit-given skills to build Jerusalem on Zion, then we employ our talents for the common good and are utterly Amazed!
