Marriage Anniversary Thanksgiving

It is a Thanksgiving tradition at Our Savior to recognize those couples having wedding anniversaries that are divisible by 5.  Let us know in the church office if your wedding anniversary should be included in the Thanksgiving Day bulletin.  We should praise God and give thanks for all those who have mastered the art of making a marriage work, especially in these days when there is so much pressure on any couple.  Let us in on your celebration, please.

Our Savior Congregation:

Thank you for all the kindness and support you gave Gordon and me during this difficult time.

Gordon would have loved the service for him: from his favorite hymns, a thoughtful sermon, beautiful solos, and wonderful organ music – to sharing this service with his family and friends.  We thank you all for the wonderful support.

The reception following the service gave us all a chance to visit and reminisce, as well as enjoy a bite to eat.

Thank you again for all you kindness.

            Sincerely, Trudy Miller and Family

FROM OUR SCHOOL

SCRIP Volunteer Needed

In order to continue participating in the SCRIP program, as a non-profit organization, we need to have a volunteer coordinate the program.  This job would entail being available to sell SCRIP to parents and replenish the SCRIP supplies.  The bookkeeping process would continue to be handled by the accounting office (Carla Gomes).  The selling time could be arranged to accommodate your schedule (or you could arrange to have other volunteers sell SCRIP at various times throughout the week).  If this is an area you might be willing to serve, please contact Joe Ryno or Dennis Dirks at the OSLS office.

Grades 7-8 Basketball begins December 5th!   Coaches are needed for the 7th and 8th Grade Girls’ Basketball Team!

Landscaping Projects – One down and one to go.  Thanks to Randy Hall, our cement projects on the front, west, and east sides are now complete!  We will be putting the finishing touches on the east side by planting some ground cover plants with in the “diamonds”.

We have received city permits to begin work on our sun shade project on the end of Building “C” (where the tables are).  This should begin soon.  As soon as we know the starting date, we will let you know.

Come! Grow with Us.

We invite members of Our Savior to join the school on Thursday mornings at 8:35 a.m. for our weekly chapel service.  Our chapel is led by Linda Greenhagen, with special messages from faculty and staff of OSLM and members of the Senior Staff.   Additionally, each grade leads a chapel service once during the school year.

Scrip News

In October the Scrip program paid out $1,304.63 to PTO and $952.26 to the Ministry Center Building Fund.  These funds represent dollars earned through escrip and scrip sales during the months of July, August and September.  Help us make these numbers grow!  Register your Safeway and PW grocery cards, Macy’s card and credit/debit cards at www.escrip.com.  Stop by the scrip table in the gym on Sunday morning and check out all of the gift cards/certificates that are available including our two newest gift cards, Peet’s Coffee & Tea and Talbot’s!  Gift cards aren’t just for giving!  Use them every time you shop, rent a movie, dine out or go to the movies!

Attention:  Ladies of Our Savior!  You are invited to a special evening to celebrate the beginning of Advent.  On November 29 at 7 p.m. join us in the gym for Advent by Candlelight for a time of quiet reflection and fellowship.  As in past years, we are looking for ladies to host a table of six.  If you would like to be a hostess, please supply a guest list to Kathy Newman or Carol Clobes.  [A hostess decorates a holiday table and prepares a dessert.]  If you would like to attend (without being a hostess), please contact either Kathy or Carol or sign up after the worship service on Sundays.  Please call Kathy if you have any questions.
