“STITCHES FROM THE HEART” – those who knit or crochet – will meet on Tuesday, June 6, from 7-9 p.m. at the home of Geneva Humphrey, 3834 Harvard Way.  Come and join us to make special baby things for preemies and newborns.

CALLING ALL MUSICIANS  If you participate in choir or bells, play in an instrumental ensemble, direct a group, sing solos, or do anything else musically, you are invited to a PARTY this Thursday, June 8, at the Even’s home.  Come at 6:30 p.m. – bring a salad, side dish, or dessert to share.  See you there!

THE FAIRE AFFAIR – AN EVENING OF FOOD, WINE, MUSIC AND FUN!

On June 22 the Mulberry Branch of Children’s Hospital, Oakland, is hosting a gala preview event at the Alameda County Fair prior to its public opening.  Each year, Mulberry hosts this event to raise much-needed support for the children and programs at Children’s Hospital, Oakland.  ALL of the money raised at the preview goes directly to the hospital to fund essential programs and services that would not be possible without the generosity of participants in this annual event.

At the Faire Affair you will enjoy a wonderful summer evening of food, valley wines, microbrewery beers and entertainment set amidst the gorgeous garden and art exhibits within the Fair’s exhibit center.  There will also be a silent auction with opportunities to bid on many terrific prizes as well as a raffle for a lovely hand-made heirloom quilt, a quilt created by a group of Livermore-area Lutheran quilters.  The ticket price is a tax-deductible bargain at $45 per person ($50 at the door).  Contact Hanne Brummond at (925) 443-6766 to obtain your tickets.

Thrivent Financial for Lutheran’s has committed $4000 in supplemental funding (through its Care in Regions program) for this very worthwhile event; for every $3 raised in ticket sales and auction proceeds, Thrivent will donate $1!  In addition, the South Alameda County chapter of Thrivent is issuing a challenge to its 13 member churches: $200 will be donated to the church with the highest ticket sales!

This event would be an excellent opportunity for a church small-group ministry to have a fun and entertaining fellowship outing.  Or it could provide the chance for a lovely dinner out for a couple or group of couples, while helping out the children of Children’s Hospital, Oakland.  Contact your friends and get your tickets now to attend this event!

SAN JOSE GIANTS BASEBALL GAME IN AWARENESS OF THRIVENT BUILDS WITH HABITAT FOR HUMANITY:  Come and join 2,500 Lutherans cheer on our Cal League Champion San Jose Giants take on the Lancaster Jethawks on Saturday, June 24, at 5 p.m.  The fun will start at 3 p.m. with a catered tailgate party, raffle prizes, a kid’s center, and a Thrivent Builds with Habitat awareness table.  Tickets are available through cash donations or checks made payable to the Central Santa Clara Chapter.  Some of the proceeds will be matched by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and donated to the Silicon Valley Habitat for Humanity affiliate.  If you would like to purchase your tickets ahead of time or have any questions, please contact Sara Shideler at 408-984-8777, x 312 or at Sara.Shideler@Thrivent.com to reserve your seats.

CALLING ALL MEN WHO LIKE TO SING!

Here’s your opportunity to sing in a men’s group on Sunday, June 25.  Rehearsals will be in the music room on Mondays, June 12 and June 19 from 7 – 8 p.m.   Men of high school age through adult are welcome.

TIME TO THINK 4TH OF JULY!  Once again, Our Savior will hold a special afternoon and evening of fun on the 4th of July.  It will be a bring-your-own-picnic lunch/dinner followed by fireworks.  There is no charge for walk-ins to this event, but you do need to buy a parking pass and we only have a limited supply.  No more than two parking passes per household.  The parking passes are $5 and will be available for purchase this morning during the coffee hour in the gym or in the church office during the week.

A CONCERT BY YOUNG MUSICIANS OF OUR SAVIOR will be presented for the Livermore community on Saturday, June 24, at 7:30 p.m.  Come and hear the wonderful music presented by some of our talented college students – Emily Gomes, mezzo-soprano; Sarah Yow, horn; Jordan Even, piano; Sarah Jessop, soprano.  It will be a delightful hour of music.  Come and support these musicians in their musical endeavors!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL AT OUR SAVIOR!  Sunday, July 30 – Thursday, August 3,  6:00 – 8:30 p.m.  Join us at Treasure Cove, where we’ll discover the riches of Christ!  A casual dinner will be served at 6 p.m.  There will be classes for kids age 3 through 5th grade, nursery care for kids under age 3, and classes for adults!  It’s sure to be an awesome week – full of worship, fun and games, crafts, and Bible stories!  Sign up today at oslm.net/church or by filling out a registration form available in the office!  Can’t wait to see you there!
