CALLING ALL STEWARDS!!!

We will hold a meeting of the OSLM Stewards (voters) after Bible class today in the gym.  We will provide pizza and pay for it with a free-will offering.  To save time, we can enjoy our lunch while addressing agenda items that include:

  • Review the overall health of our ministries
  • Hear about progress with the Ministry Center
  • Discuss our FY06-07 Critical Targets
  • Approve the FY06-07 OSLM budget
  • Approve new Elders and OSLC membership changes
  • Elect three members to the Lay Governing Board

An important piece of business at the Stewards’/Voters’ meeting will be the ELECTION of 3 NEW MEMBERS to the LAY GOVERNING BOARD.  The Nominating Committee will be presenting the following slate of 9 candidates to be voted on.  Each of these candidates meets the requirements listed in the Bylaws and has consented to serve if elected.  They are Dave Dannenberg, Jim Hermerding, Suzanne Pearson, Sylvette Phillips, Ted Sanlis, Diane Schildbach, Charlie Swift, Ken Volkman, and Beth Young.

In honor of Pastor Brewer there will be a FAREWELL BREAKFAST BRUNCH on the morning of June 11 immediately after Pastor’s final service with us.  There will be no Sunday school or adult education classes.

If your last name begins with the letters A – M, please bring a fruit or vegetable plate or a salad.  If your last name begins with the letters N – Z, please bring breads, pastries or cheese.  The main egg and meat course and beverages will be provided.

TIME TO THINK 4TH OF JULY!  Once again, Our Savior will hold a special afternoon and evening of fun on the 4th of July.  It will be a bring-your-own-picnic lunch/dinner followed by fireworks.  There is no charge for walk-ins to this event, but you do need to buy a parking pass and we only have a limited supply.  No more than two parking passes per household.  The parking passes are $5 and will be available for purchase this morning during the coffee hour in the gym or in the church office during the week.

Thank you for all your help, food, cards, prayers and visits during my recent hospital stay and convalescence.  I am most  grateful.

Are you interested in hearing more about the exciting new partnership between Habitat for Humanity and Thrivent?

Then plan to attend an informational breakfast to be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran at 38801 Blacow Rd., Fremont, at 9 a.m. on June 10.

RSVP to Gayle Wilson at 510-405-8100.

Changing lives by working shoulder-to-shoulder with someone to build their home comes from the heart.  Leading a group of your fellow congregation members comes from your heart, too, but with a sense of wanting to do more – giving more of your time and effort to help a family in need.

You can help coordinate your congregation’s efforts to participate in Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity by becoming a Thrivent Builds congregational Champion.
