We will hold a meeting of the OSLM Stewards (voters) after Bible class on May 28 in the gym.  We will provide pizza and pay for it with a free-will offering.  To save time, we can enjoy our lunch while addressing agenda items that include:

  • Review the overall health of our ministries
  • Hear about progress with the Ministry Center
  • Discuss our FY06-07 Critical Targets
  • Approve the FY06-07 OSLM budget
  • Approve new Elders and OSLC membership changes
  • Elect three members to the Lay Governing Board

An important piece of business at the upcoming (May 28) Stewards/Voters meeting will be the ELECTION of 3 NEW MEMBERS to the LAY GOVERNING BOARD.  The Nominating Committee will be presenting the following slate of 9 candidates to be voted on.  Each of these candidates meets the requirements listed in the Bylaws and has consented to serve if elected.  They are (in alphabetical order):  Dave Dannenberg, Jim Hermerding, Suzanne Pearson, Sylvette Phillips, Ted Sanlis, Diane Schildbach, Charlie Swift, Ken Volkman, and Beth Young.

WILLING HANDS tomorrow

From 9 a.m. to noon.  Anyone who has some time available and would like to help with keeping our facility clean and neat is welcome.  We appreciate your help.

It’s time for a little musical fun!  Come enjoy an hour of light music at the SPRING FLING on Sunday, May 21.  4:00 p.m. is the time and the Sanctuary is the place.  You will be treated to a handbell showdown, Broadway for brass and music by our Youth Ensemble, Women’s Ensemble and Our Savior Choir.  Some “yummy eats” will follow in the gym.

Attention students entering 7th-9th grades!

CRASH Jr. High Ministries is going to a JUNIOR HIGH DISTRICT YOUTH GATHERING at Mt. Cross in Felton, CA, on July 5-8.  The total cost is $150 and health forms and a $75 deposit (half the cost) are due by May 21.  The Gathering’s title is “Victory” and will celebrate the victory we have in Christ’s resurrection through various games, challenge course activities, and themed days following different reality television show formats.  If you are interested in attending, email brett@osyouth.com or call 447-1246, ext. 261.

TIME TO THINK 4TH OF JULY!

Once again, Our Savior will hold a special afternoon and evening of fun on the 4th of July.  It will be a bring-your-own-picnic lunch/dinner followed by fireworks.  There is no charge for entrance to this event, but you do need to buy a parking pass and we only have a limited supply.  No more than two parking passes per household.  The parking passes are $5 and will be available for purchase this morning during the coffee hour in the gym.

THE VALLEY CONCERT CHORALE, John Emory Bush, conductor, will present “Around the World with Folk Songs” on Saturday, May 20, at 8 p.m. in our sanctuary.  Enjoy music from Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, North America and South America.  Tickets are available at the door.

VISITOR PARKING

Let’s make our visitors feel welcome.  There are four spaces for visitors to our church to use on Sunday mornings.  They are located in the parking lot by the offices.  There is additional parking in the ball field lot next door or in the area behind the gym.

The FLOWER CHART for 2006 is in the church office.  Practically all of the Sundays for the rest of the year are available for flower donations.  If you would like to donate altar flowers to celebrate an occasion, to honor someone, or in memory of a loved one, please come to the office or give us a call at 447-1246, ext. 230.

CALLING VOLUNTEERS!

We are looking for help for Summer Sunday School.  We need a Preschool Teacher (children ages 3-5) and volunteers to present a 20 minute lesson (curriculum provided) to a group of 5-15 older children (ages 6-12).  You can volunteer for one or more weeks!  Summer Sunday School will start June 18 and end August 20.  Please prayerfully consider this need as you make your summer plans.  Contact Jill Santos at 373-3349 if you are able to help.  Thank you!
