DID YOU KNOW EGGS GROW ON TREES?

Well, they do here at OSLM in the back of the church!  Yes!  In the back of the church you will find an “Egg Tree” on which there are 50 eggs with the names of families in our Livermore community to whom we want to deliver Easter baskets on April 15.  Feel free to pick up an egg and check out the names and ages of the families, and then create a special “Easter Basket” for them and get them to the Church Office the week of April 9th.

Yes, the victims of Katrina still need our help.  There is still so much to be done.  Stop by the table at the coffee hour this morning and see Jan Pfeifer to donate $1 and you will get a special yellow and purple “wristband” with the imprint Reaching Out in Love – Hurricane Relief.  All proceeds go to support our Lutheran Schools on the Gulf Coast affected by the hurricanes.

CONCORDIA CAPSULE, IRVINE

Did you know that Concordia has sent four mission teams to assist cleaning up homes in Mississippi since Hurricane Katrina hit the gulf coast last year?  Thirty-two students have gone to serve those who suffered tremendous damage, as well as five faculty and seven staff members.  Collectively, they spent over $20,000 to travel to Mississippi and put in 2,112 hours of work.  All have counted the time spent there as life-changing!  They were inspired by the courage, faith and positive attitude of the people they served.  The fourth team made the trip during spring break, and more teams will be going during the next school year.

KARFREITAGSGOTTESDIENST on April 14 at 4 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2317 Buena Vista Avenue in Walnut Creek.  This Good Friday worship service is in German. The preacher at the service will be the Rev. Andreas Pielhoop.

TRAILER NEEDED!  Do you have a small enclosed trailer that can be locked?  Our high school youth are looking for a trailer to carry equipment and bags for our trip to Cuba, New Mexico.  Call Brett at 447-1246, ext. 261, email him at brett@osyouth.com, or talk to him in person if you think you can help!

THE CHRISTIAN READING CLUB meets on Tuesday, April 18, at 7 p.m. in Room 8.  All interested readers are invited to attend.  The book discussion will be on “What About The Big Stuff?,” Finding Strength and Moving Forward when the Stakes are High, by Richard Carlson, Ph.D.  ISBN 0-7868-8880-6.  At most bookstores, www.HyperionBooks.com., and Amazon.com.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL is scheduled for

 Sunday, July 31, through

Thursday, August 3, from

6:00--8:30 p.m.

We are looking for youth (6th grade and up) and adults to help in all areas including teaching, music, skits, crafts, games, meal preparation, registration and publicity!
