NEW PASTOR’S CLASS

A new session of “Pastor’s Class” taught by Interim Pastor, Richard Brewer, will begin today, and will meet during the education hour from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in Room 18.  If you are considering joining our spiritual family here at Our Savior and want to find out more about Lutheran teachings, this will be a helpful class.  This class concludes on May 21, with the welcoming of new members at the 9 a.m. service with a reception at 10:30 a.m. in the gym.

What is CONNECTIONS?  This high-energy, interactive, and small-group based Sunday school model will feature a worship band, a talk by an adult leader, occasional testimonies, small group time, and lots of chances to learn about God in a little different way.  The small groups will meet for the second half of the hour and will be age-based…meaning Jr. High with Jr. High and Sr. High with Sr. High.  If you have questions about this ministry, talk to Brett or email him at brett@osyouth.com.

THE SEVEN SOLUTIONS FOR PREVENTING BURN-OUT IN PARENTS class is now being offered again on Thursday evenings in the ECDC for those who were unable to attend the recent Sunday morning class.  The class meets in the ECDC from 6:30-8:00 p.m.  Next session is March 9.

The NOMINATING COMMITTEE is considering candidates for election to the Lay Governing Board.  If you know of someone who would make a good LGB member, please give that person’s name in writing to Norm Back, Marilyn Janzen, Ann Brand, or John Phillips.  Please note that there are a number of specific qualifications given in our By-Laws for LGB members; the most relevant are that the candidate must regularly participate in the worship and educational life of the congregation, and that he/she must not be on the payroll of OSLM.  The committee will consider every name that is submitted to it, but there is no guarantee that any given person will make it onto the final slate that is submitted to the voters.

ATTENTION ALL CONNECT MISSION TRIP PARTICIPANTS AND PARENTS!

Your next payment of $200 is due to Brett no later than Friday, March 10.  The final payment will be due in mid-May and will be based on how much money is raised through the Servant Auction.

Finally, there will be a Parent / Student Mission Trip Meeting on Thursday, March 30, from 7-9 p.m.  We will be passing out information and various forms.  Mark it on your calendar and plan on at least one parent attending this meeting!

CELEBRATE 30 YEARS OF GOD’S GRACE AND GROWTH  Concordia University in Irvine invites you to be their guest at a reception, lunch and program on Sunday, March 19, at the Embassy Suites, So. San Francisco (250 Gateway Blvd.)  Plan to join us at 12:45 p.m. for the reception followed by lunch at 1:30 p.m.  The program will feature northern California alumni, President Jack Preus and music by Concordia students.  Please RSVP no later than March 13 by emailing Geri.Baldelli@cui.edu or calling 949-854-8002, ext. 1854.  Thank you for being a partner in educating our future leaders!
