VISITOR PARKING

We have designated four parking stalls as Sunday morning visitor parking.  They are located in the parking lot closest to the office on the east side.  If parking is not available, please use the area behind the gym or the parking lot at the ball field.  Let’s make our visitors truly feel welcome.

IT’S TIME FOR THE MEAT BOWL!

The Men of Our Savior will gather this afternoon at the home of Mark McDonald, here in Livermore, for the last round of the NFL Play-offs.  Come on over starting at noon (or whenever you can) for these two games.  There will be plenty of meat and fellowship with other men of Our Savior.  There will also be other things for the uninterested Football Fan (cards, etc.).  We’ll do some planning for the Easter Breakfast sponsored by the men of Our Savior and look further into the idea of an Our Savior Men’s Retreat.  Cost will be your free-will donation to help cover expenses.  You can do a last-minute RSVP to Steve Christopher this morning if you still want to come.

WILLING HANDS will be tomorrow because of the holiday last Monday.

KATRINA COMMITTEE TO MEET THIS WEEK.  Our “Katrina Committee” was formed this past fall to coordinate efforts among our membership in response to the hurricanes that hit the Gulf Coast.  At Christmas time our committee organized the “Angel Tree” program which brought gifts to families in need here in the Livermore community and to a helping agency in Oakland.  Now, in the new year, we would like to set forward some special projects that will continue to support recovery along the Gulf Coast as well as serve special needs here in our community.  If you are interested in being a part of these efforts to serve, you are invited to the next “Katrina Committee” meeting this Tuesday, January 24, 7-9 p.m. in Room 11.  All previous committee folks are invited back as well as any “newcomers.”  Questions?  Please see Steve Christopher or call the Church Office, 447-1246.

OSLM will hold a brief STEWARDS’(voters’) MEETING immediately after Sunday School / Bible classes next Sunday, Jan. 29.  Agenda items will include an update on progress with the Ministry Center, a vote on an intermediate next step for Ministry Center construction, and election of two members of OSLM to this year’s nominating committee.  Stay tuned!

The CLEANUP OF THE MINISTRY CENTER continues as we get closer to our building project.  After approval of the voters, we anticipate that some work will start on the building itself sometime during the first part of February.  You will notice that a 40 ft. storage unit will be showing up on the property in the immediate future.  It will be located along the back wall of the gym under the cross.  PROGRESS – PROGRESS – PROGRESS

THE 8TH ANNUAL CRAB FEED is taking place on Saturday, February 4, from 5 – 9 p.m. in our gym.  Enjoy All-You-Can-Eat Crab, Caesar Salad, Pasta, Garlic Bread, and Dessert.  There will be music, dancing, and lots of family fun!

Tickets are available in the church office during the week and in the gym after church on Sunday.  Cost for tickets is $20 for adults, $10 for children ages 5 – 10.  Children ages 4 and under are free.  Buy your tickets early.  Seating is limited.

Our goal through this fundraiser is to raise $3,000 which is about $100 per person going on the trip.  Come out and support the youth on February 19!

THE CHRISTIAN READING CLUB meets on Tuesday, February 21, at 7 p.m. in Room 8.  All interested readers are invited to attend.  The book discussion will be on “The Four Loves,” a classic by C. S. Lewis.
