E-MAIL COMMUNICATION WITH COMCAST USERS

There have been some issues with OSLM Staff sending emails out to those who use Comcast as their internet provider.  Comcast has detected OSLM as spam and will not deliver oslm.net emails to Comcast email accounts.  However, that spam guard is not set up with OSLM because Comcast emails are delivered to OSLM email accounts.  This is a problem of which we are aware and working on with Comcast.  As soon as it is fixed we will be able to communicate with those of you who have Comcast as your internet provider via e-mail.

STEWARDS’ MEETING on Sunday, May 20, at 4 p.m. in the sanctuary.  If you are a voting member (a communicant member, age 18 or older) please take the time to come, as the May meeting is usually the most important one of the year.  The three main items of business on the agenda are:

The election of new LGB members.  Candidates are Judi Greenwalt, Marcus Schildbach, and Jacki Shotts. (The Nominating Committee would like to thank them and all of the other people who prayerfully considered serving as an LGB director.)

A discussion of our Critical Targets and Goals

Adoption of the FY 2007-08 budget

CHRISTIAN BOOK CLUB meets on Tuesday, May 22, at 7 p.m. in Room 8.  The book to be discussed will be “Captured by Grace” – No One is Beyond the Reach of a Loving God – by David Jeremiah.  ISBN 1-59145-389-5

The CONCERT HANDBELLS, the RESOUND! ENSEMBLE, and the SPIRIT BELLS OF CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY, Irvine, will perform on Thursday, May 24, at 7 p.m. in our sanctuary.

The program includes a broad variety of musical styles, techniques, and media appealing to all ages and tastes: hymns and pop, traditional, classical, and jazz, for large ensembles, solos, and quartets, using over 100 handbells, choir chimes and other instruments.

Come for a delightful evening of fellowship and exciting music by these highly experienced and well-traveled groups.  A free-will offering will be taken.

Housing for 30 people is needed.  Please call Christa Even at 447-1246, ext. 231, if you can help.

The Habitat for Humanity East Bay Build-a-Thon finished up and was a huge success.  A number of Lutheran churches were represented and all 8 houses went from foundation slab to the roof trusses in four short days.

A blog was started to update people on progress of the Thrivent Builds sponsored house at the Habitat East Bay building site.  You can read more about the build-a-thon and see pictures on the blog at http://hebtb.blogspot.com/
