Once Upon a Parable – A Musical for Young Voices

This lively and moving production will be presented in the sanctuary. Here’s what the creators of the musical have to say about it:
Jesus was a storyteller. A quick glance at the gospels reveals Him constantly regaling the crowds with tales designed to teach, amuse, puzzle, and even irritate. And two thousand years later, His words are still fresh – the double meanings and surprise endings of the stories challenge and enlighten us. Children’s Choirs and Handbell Ensembles
You won’t want to miss this opportunity to enrich your child’s life through music! Our Savior Lutheran Ministries offers a choral program for students in 1st through 8th grade and a handbell program for children in 4th through 8th grade. Students learn to make music together, read basic music notation, and become a team. At the same time they experience the joy of giving praise to God! All groups participate in our annual Christmas concert. The choirs present a musical in the spring and the handbells participate in a spring concert. Our Savior Choir
Singing in choir at Our Savior is a great way to meet and get to know people, to learn new skills, to have fun, AND to give God praise! We sing a variety of styles of music, so there is something for everyone. Rehearsals are in the music room on Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. during the school year. We sing for worship about three times a month, as well as for special festival occasions. You can join any time of the year!
Our Savior Ringers
This handbell choir is open to anyone high school age or above. Come to the sanctuary any Monday night from 7:00 to 8:00 pm if you would like to join us. We have a group that’s diverse in age, but we have fun making music together! If you have never rung bells before, but would like to give it a try, call Christa Even at 447-1246, ext. 231 to get a few tips before starting. We always welcome new ringers – and our music adds a different kind of "joyful noise" to our worship!
Women's Ensemble
Do you have one free hour during the week to spend making music to God’s glory? Wednesday mornings at 9:00 are our rehearsal times. We would love to have a few more women join us in praise. We meet in the Music Room.
Youth Ensemble
All high school students are invited to join our Youth Ensemble –we make great music for our God– it’s fun to be with each other (and our awesome directors!), and we have FOOD at almost every rehearsal. Join us each Sunday at 11:30 after the high school bible study. We meet for just one hour – you’ll be home in time for lunch! No previous singing experience is needed! Our choir sings four or five times a year, including a Christmas concert, Christmas Eve, and a spring concert. Join us!
Third Sunday Players
On the third Sunday of each month Our Savior has a more contemporary style of worship. The Third Sunday Players rehearse the day before the service; that’s Saturday morning, from 9:00 to 10:00. We rehearse in the sanctuary and welcome folks who play guitar, keyboard or percussion. For more information, call Christa Even at 447-1246, ext. 231 – or come to one of rehearsals!
Instrumentalists & Soloists
Call or email Christa Even at 447-1246, x. 231 if you would like to share your gift with us in worship. We are always looking for more brass players, or those of you who play another instrument. Also, if you have accompanying skill and would like to share that, we will find an opportunity for you. We also enjoy having vocal soloists, cantors, or small ensembles, so let us know if you want to share your music with our church family.
